For many of our students, theatre is more than a hobby. It's where they find confidence, discover their voice, build friendships, and realize they are capable of more than they ever imagined.
Each January, Top Hat Theatrics has the awesome opportunity to take a select group of young performers to the Junior Theater Festival (JTF), the world's largest celebration of youth musical theatre. Students spend months preparing a 15-minute production while growing as performers, teammates, and leaders. At JTF, they perform for theatre professionals, learn from Broadway artists, and create memories that stay with them long after the final curtain.
Getting there takes more than talent and hard work. It takes months of rehearsals and a fully produced show before our troupe ever steps onto the festival stage. Costumes, music, rehearsal space, props, technical elements, production materials, festival registration, and travel-related expenses all work together to make this experience possible.
Our families invest a great deal to be part of this journey, but for some, the cost can be a barrier. We never want a student's financial circumstances to determine whether they have the opportunity to participate.
